The existing law prohibits individuals from claiming to predict future events or perform supernatural services for financial gain, including activities such as fortune telling through cards, reading hands or heads, consulting astrological movements, using spells or charms, promising to recover lost property, influencing luck, affecting business or personal outcomes, or manipulating personal relationships. By repealing this section, the bill would effectively decriminalize these activities, removing the legal restrictions that previously made such practices a criminal offense. The repeal will take effect 60 days after the bill's enactment, providing a short transition period for implementation.
