This bill amends Michigan's Truth in Renting Act to further protect tenants by prohibiting certain provisions in rental agreements. The legislation also specifies that any rental agreement clause violating these provisions is automatically void. These changes aim to create more balanced and fair rental agreements by preventing landlords from including overly restrictive or punitive terms that could disadvantage tenants, and ensuring tenants have at least one fee-free method of paying rent.
