Their accomplishments include founding the Juvenile Rights Project, authoring consumer protection laws, securing justice for Guantanamo detainees, and leading various legal and civic institutions. The resolution highlights the class's profound civic engagement, from participating in civil rights marches to establishing youth development programs and charitable initiatives. The school's legacy continues through the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, which maintains the original mission of providing legal education grounded in justice and service. The Council of the District of Columbia formally recognizes and commends the founding class for their historic contributions to public interest law and their unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and community empowerment.
