This bill makes several modifications to Arizona's transportation regulations and establishes three new funds to support transportation innovation and infrastructure. Finally, the bill creates a Statewide Transportation Innovation Fund to provide grants to for-profit and nonprofit entities for transportation innovation programs. The transportation innovation program will support grant recipients offering transportation services with vehicles seating 15 or fewer passengers, including manually driven or autonomous vehicles, with predetermined passenger pick-up and drop-off locations. Grant applications must include detailed implementation plans, service areas, passenger costs, vehicle availability, and other specified information, and will be reported to legislative transportation committee chairpersons who may request a confidential public review meeting.
