This bill amends the Pennsylvania Safe Drinking Water Act to prohibit the addition of fluoride or fluoride-containing substances to public water systems. Specifically, water suppliers must cease all fluoridation within 30 days of the bill's effective date, and they are required to submit a detailed report to the state department within 90 days, including information about their water system, the date fluoridation stopped, procedures used to discontinue fluoridation, and compliance measures. The bill also prevents counties, municipal authorities, and other political subdivisions from adopting ordinances or policies that would require or permit fluoride to be added to public water systems. Furthermore, the department is mandated to publish these reports on its public website, and any violations of the fluoride prohibition will be treated as separate offenses, with each day of noncompliance considered a distinct violation subject to penalties under existing law. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage, effectively ending fluoride supplementation in Pennsylvania's public water systems.
