This bill establishes a Cultural History Advisory Board within the Michigan Department of Education, designed to promote cultural competency and diverse historical perspectives in K-12 education. The board will consist of 24 members representing various cultural communities (including Asian-American, Latino, Black, Middle Eastern, Indigenous, Caribbean-American, Jewish-American, and European-American groups), as well as educators, school administrators, labor organizations, and higher education representatives.
