This bill requires the Secretary of Agriculture, through the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), to conduct a comprehensive survey of grape production nationwide and publish the data online. Within one year of enactment, the Secretary must complete an initial survey documenting total grape acreage, production, utilization, and details by type, variety, county, and year planted, and make these survey results publicly available on the NASS website. Additionally, for the next four years (two years after enactment and annually for three years thereafter), the Secretary must publish detailed data from the five states with the highest grape production in the previous year. To support these efforts, the bill authorizes $2,500,000 for the initial survey in fiscal year 2026 and $1,500,000 annually through 2030 for ongoing data publication. The goal of the Fairness in Vineyard Data Act is to provide transparent, accessible information about grape production to support agricultural stakeholders, researchers, and policymakers.
