This bill amends the Pennsylvania election code to establish a new voter registration verification process where property owners or lessees can report individuals registered to vote at their address who no longer reside there. Under this provision, county election commissions will be required to immediately send a notice to the registered voter at the address in question and attempt to contact the voter at any alternative address available in order to update their voter registration. The goal appears to be maintaining accurate voter rolls by enabling property owners to help identify and remove registrations of people who have moved away. The bill will take effect 60 days after its enactment, providing time for election commissions to implement the new reporting process. This represents an additional method of voter list maintenance, supplementing existing voter removal programs and intended to help ensure that voter registrations remain current and reflect actual residency.
