This bill creates the "Lifetown" license plate by amending existing law and enacting a new section. Specifically, it adds a provision to section 4503.537 of the Revised Code, allowing owners or lessees of certain vehicles to apply for "Lifetown" license plates. These plates will feature a logo and words selected by Lifetown, Incorporated, and approved by the registrar of motor vehicles. To obtain these plates, applicants must pay the standard vehicle registration fees, any applicable local taxes, an additional administrative fee of ten dollars which goes to the public safety - highway purposes fund, and a fifteen-dollar contribution. This fifteen-dollar contribution will be deposited into the license plate contribution fund, as established in section 4501.21 of the Revised Code, and then distributed to Lifetown, Incorporated to fund its programs and activities. The bill also makes conforming changes to section 4501.21, which details the distribution of funds from the license plate contribution fund to various organizations.
