AI Summary

This bill extends the sunset date for a provision related to the reimbursement rates for county-owned nursing homes that provide Medicaid nursing home services. Specifically, it amends Section 109 of Public Act 280 of 1939, which outlines medical services eligible for reimbursement under the state's medical assistance program. The key change is to extend the existing limitations on how much the county maintenance of effort rate can increase annually for these county-owned facilities until December 31, 2030, or until a new reimbursement system is implemented, whichever comes first. The "maintenance of effort" refers to the financial contribution a county must make towards the cost of providing Medicaid nursing home services in its own facilities. This extension aims to provide continued financial stability and predictability for these facilities.
