This bill provides a specific exception to existing cannabis licensing regulations regarding the proximity of adult-use retail dispensaries to school property lines. Under this legislation, any cannabis dispensary licensee who was initially approved by the state office before July 28, 2025, and whose business location was found to be compliant with the office's standards at the time of approval, will be allowed to maintain their license and continue operating at their current location, even if that location is closer to a school property line than would normally be permitted. To qualify for this exemption, the dispensary must have not violated any cannabis laws or regulations and must remain in good standing with the licensing office. This bill effectively grandfathers in existing dispensary locations that might otherwise be deemed non-compliant due to their proximity to schools, providing regulatory stability for cannabis businesses that were initially approved under previous standards.
