The resolution commemorates Wattinger's selfless act of pushing his wife to safety during the flood, ultimately sacrificing his own life, and extends deepest condolences to his three children (Violet, Hunter, and Zoey), his wife Samantha, his mothers Kimmie and Carla Lynch, and other family and friends. The Texas House of Representatives unanimously adopted this resolution on September 2, 2025, to honor Wattinger's memory and heroism.
