This resolution pays tribute to the memory of Alejandro "Alex" Lopez Jr., a San Diego, Texas resident who passed away on May 23, 2025, at age 74. Born on October 31, 1950, to Alejandro and Elvira Garcia Lopez, Alex was a U.S. Army veteran who worked as a machinist inspector at Corpus Christi Army Depot for over 42 years. He was a devoted family man, married for 49 years to his wife Angelica, with whom he had two children, Alejandro III and Alma Rosa. Additionally, he served as a pastor at Fishers of Men Worship Center for 15 years and enjoyed hobbies such as hunting for antiques, attending gun shows, and barbecuing. The resolution, passed by the 89th Texas Legislature's 2nd Called Session, extends sincere condolences to his wife, children, three sisters (Linda, Leila, and Lesbia), brother-in-law Leonel, and other relatives and friends, while also directing that an official copy of the resolution be prepared for his family and that the House adjourn in his memory.
