This resolution pays tribute to the life of David Homer Guerra, a prominent attorney from McAllen, Texas, who passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Laredo in 1944, Guerra was a distinguished legal professional who graduated as valedictorian from Rio Grande City High School and earned a law degree from St. Mary's University. Throughout his career, he was a partner at King, Guerra, Davis & Garcia, P.C., specializing in real estate, municipal issues, oil and gas law, and serving as city attorney of Mission for many years. The resolution highlights Guerra's deep commitment to his family, including his wife of 56 years, Rosa Maria, and their four children and seven grandchildren, as well as his strong faith as an active member of Saint Paul and Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Churches. The Texas House of Representatives formally recognizes Guerra's contributions to his profession and community, extends condolences to his family, and orders an official copy of the resolution to be prepared in his memory, ultimately adjourning in honor of his life and legacy.
