This resolution commends Healthy Resources for Displaced Children (HEARD), a student-run nonprofit organization based in Cedar Park, Texas, for its exemplary community service during flood relief efforts in Williamson County. Founded in 2021 by Nikhil Parida, HEARD originally focused on supporting children from refugee and immigrant families, but has since expanded its mission to include broader community assistance. The organization raised $2,000 for flood victims and provided in-kind donations to Operation Liberty Hill and the American Red Cross. HEARD has been recognized for its outstanding work, receiving two Community Resource Awards from the Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards, a special recognition from the Round Rock mayor, and multiple Presidential Volunteer Service Awards. The Texas House of Representatives formally acknowledges HEARD's dedication and commitment to helping those in need, commending the organization for its inspiring community service and extending best wishes to its members. As a gesture of appreciation, the House will prepare an official copy of the resolution for HEARD.
