He was a veteran of the Korean War, a successful real estate businessman who operated Northern Realty for 52 years, and a dedicated Republican political activist who served as a precinct committeeman for 67 years and was a former Illinois Republican Party chairman. Throughout his life, Northern was recognized for his leadership, serving as a mentor to many political candidates and holding significant military and civic responsibilities across multiple reserves, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The resolution honors his legacy as a selfless soldier, businessman, and community leader, extends condolences to his surviving family members, and resolves to present a copy of the memorial to his family as an expression of sympathy.
