This bill creates a specialized sick leave bank for Kathleen Rodrigue, who works at the Chief Medical Examiner's office. The bill allows other employees in the department to voluntarily donate one or more of their sick, personal, or vacation days to this bank, which Rodrigue can use during a period of extended illness or disability. If Rodrigue either leaves her job or requests that the bank be dissolved, any remaining days in the bank will be transferred to the department's extended illness leave bank. The bill specifically stipulates that the donated sick leave days can only be used for absences directly related to the medical condition that prompted the creation of the bank, and the Department will determine the appropriateness of such absences. The legislation would take effect immediately upon passage, and it overrides any existing general or special laws that might conflict with its provisions.
