This bill requires the heads of several key federal agencies, including Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Agriculture, Veterans Affairs, Treasury, and the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to create a memorandum of understanding within one year of enactment to share and coordinate housing-related research and market data. Additionally, these agency heads must jointly submit a comprehensive report to specific congressional committees within one year, addressing seven critical housing policy areas: federal housing finance programs and coordination, opportunities to reduce mortgage origination and servicing costs, housing construction costs and production barriers, local regulatory barriers to housing development, insurance costs and availability affecting housing markets, down payment assistance and housing transaction incentives, and disaster resilience and housing recovery coordination.
