This bill provides funding to ensure that Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel continue to receive pay and allowances during a potential government shutdown in fiscal years 2026 or 2027. Specifically, the bill appropriates necessary funds from the U.S. Treasury to continue paying law enforcement personnel in specific job classification series (such as 0083, 1801, 1802, and others), as well as other DHS employees and contractors deemed essential by the Secretary of Homeland Security, including those handling administrative, payroll, accounting, and other critical functions.
