AI Summary

This bill modifies Michigan's concealed pistol licensing law to allow individuals to apply for a concealed pistol license at any county clerk's office in the state, rather than being restricted to the county of their residence. The key changes include removing the requirement that applicants file their concealed pistol license application specifically in their county of residence and instead allowing them to apply in any county within Michigan. This provides more flexibility for applicants in obtaining their concealed pistol license. The bill maintains all other existing requirements for obtaining a license, such as background checks, fingerprinting, firearms training, and meeting eligibility criteria like age, criminal history, and mental health restrictions. The legislation also updates related language throughout the licensing statute to reflect this change, ensuring consistency in how the law is applied. The bill appears to streamline the licensing process by removing geographic restrictions while preserving the state's existing safety and verification procedures for concealed pistol licenses.
