This bill provides for a land transfer between the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service in Tuolumne County, California. Specifically, approximately 170 acres of land currently within Yosemite National Park will be transferred to the Stanislaus National Forest, while a similar acreage of National Forest System land will be transferred to Yosemite National Park. The bill allows the Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior to make minor corrections and adjustments to the land transfer through mutual agreement, with such changes to be published in the Federal Register. The bill also maintains existing environmental protections by requiring each agency to identify and provide notice of any known hazardous substance sites on the transferred lands, and retains responsibility for cleanup of these sites with the original agency.
