Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, in relation to permitting requests for self-exclusion from gambling to be made electronically
AI Summary
This bill amends existing law, specifically section 1344 of the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, to require that the procedures for adding individuals to, and removing them from, the list of persons who have voluntarily excluded themselves from gambling must include options for submitting these requests electronically. This means that individuals who wish to self-exclude from gambling or to be removed from that list will be able to do so online, in addition to any existing methods. The bill also reiterates that licensed gaming facilities must have procedures in place to prevent self-excluded individuals from receiving targeted advertising and to deny them access to benefits like credit, complimentary services, check cashing, and club programs.
