This bill, known as the "fair play act," prohibits mobile sports wagering operators and platforms from restricting the amount or frequency of deposits or bets made by authorized sports bettors simply because the bettor is winning money or due to their general betting activity. However, these restrictions are still allowed if the betting activity is deemed suspicious, as defined by law, or if it indicates the bettor has a gambling disorder, which is defined in mental hygiene law. Furthermore, if a bettor's activity is limited or they are banned, the operator or platform must provide electronic written notice within 24 hours, detailing the restriction, its duration, the reason (specifying if it's for suspicious activity or problem gambling), and a link to problem gambling resources if the restriction is due to problem gambling.
