The bill mandates that informational materials, developed with input from LIFE providers, must now include a description of the program with frequently asked questions, clarify that individuals can choose between the LIFE program and Community Health Choices managed care organizations, provide specific contact information for local LIFE providers, offer a comparison of services between the two programs, and include an attestation form that individuals must sign demonstrating their understanding of LIFE program services. Additionally, the bill requires the state department to provide ongoing training to the Independent Enrollment Broker about the LIFE Program and ensure the program is offered equally to all eligible individuals. The bill also mandates quarterly reporting to legislative committees about long-term care service program enrollments, including documentation of compliance with the new information and training requirements. A related repeal of a section of the Fiscal Code is included to effectuate these changes, and the bill will take effect 60 days after enactment.
