This bill allows Richard J. Vogt, III, who is currently a Tier VI member of the New York City Employees' Retirement System (NYCERS) and was employed by the State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College from May 1, 2000, to August 30, 2000, to retroactively join the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System (NYSLRS) as a Tier IV member with a membership date of May 1, 2000, provided he applies within one year of the bill's effective date. This retroactive membership, granted because he did not become a member through no fault of his own, will grant him eligibility for all Tier IV rights and benefits, with the associated past service costs to be borne by SUNY Maritime College and no refund of his member contributions.
