The bill mandates that the Department review and potentially update the Gold Book at least once every five years to ensure the guidelines remain current and effective. The goal is to create a standardized, efficient, and environmentally responsible approach to geothermal energy development on federal lands by providing clear, comprehensive guidance to both government agencies and geothermal operators.
