This bill establishes a ticket amnesty program for the District of Columbia that allows people with delinquent parking, standing, stopping, and automated traffic enforcement violation notices to pay their original fine and have associated penalties automatically waived. The program will be administered by the Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles and must be available for at least six consecutive months, beginning within 60 days of the act's approval. Participants can pay their original notices online, in person, or by mail, and once the original fine is successfully paid, all associated penalties will be eliminated and the infraction will be closed. The Director of the Department of Motor Vehicles is required to publicize the program's details, and any revenue generated from the amnesty program will be credited to the District of Columbia's General Fund. The bill will take effect after mayoral approval and a 30-day congressional review period, following standard procedures for District of Columbia legislation.
