The resolution highlights Odeh's background as a poet, Arabic language lecturer at Coastline College and California State University, Fullerton, and his work promoting civil liberties for Arab-Americans and human rights globally. The House of Representatives acknowledges Odeh as a victim of domestic terrorism, extends deep sympathy to his wife Norma and three daughters Helena, Samya, and Susan, and notes that the perpetrators of his murder have not been brought to justice. The resolution directs the House Clerk to communicate the resolution to the Senate and transmit a copy to Odeh's family, and the House will adjourn as a mark of respect to his memory.
