This bill requires the Florida Department of Health to establish a perimenopause and menopause policy workgroup composed of healthcare providers, women who have experienced perimenopause or menopause, advocates, and other interested parties. The workgroup's responsibilities include developing key messages about perimenopause and menopause, setting initiative priorities, ensuring culturally appropriate messaging for diverse communities, creating a coordinated communications strategy targeting women, men, employers, and medical providers, and supporting efforts to communicate scientific information about hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and other treatment options. Additionally, the Department of Health must develop and publicly share online resources about perimenopause and menopause, including accurate scientific information about symptoms and treatment options, health risks associated with reduced estrogen production, a downloadable preventive care checklist for women, and content adapted from existing clinician-directed materials and patient education resources. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026, and aims to improve awareness, understanding, and healthcare support for women experiencing perimenopause and menopause.
