This resolution congratulates the Aurora Actionaires, a community service organization of 20 African American women founded in 1975 in Aurora, Illinois, on their 50 years of dedicated community service. The resolution highlights the group's significant contributions, which include providing over $200,000 in college scholarships to underserved high school graduates, sponsoring Little Libraries, supporting special needs students, organizing mentoring events for girls, and providing critical assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic by distributing masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, and socks to residents of housing authorities and nursing homes. The group, which transitioned from a social club to a service-oriented organization, established a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation in 2015 and operates under the motto "We Care. We Act. We Serve."
