This bill modifies the administration of Michigan's industrial hemp program by making several changes to the Industrial Hemp Fund. The fund, which is used by the department to establish, operate, and enforce the program, will now be subject to a new provision stating that on October 1, 2027, the fund will be abolished and any remaining money will be transferred to the agriculture licensing and inspection fees fund. Additionally, any information submitted by past participants in the industrial hemp program to the department will be exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act, except for disclosures to law enforcement agencies.
