This bill prohibits cannabis and cannabis product advertisements on television and radio by amending the existing cannabis law, establishing a $5,000 fine for each violation and potential license revocation for repeated offenses. Specifically, the legislation adds television and radio advertisements to the list of prohibited marketing methods for cannabis products, which already includes restrictions on advertisements near schools, in public transit, targeting minors, and making medical claims. Registered cannabis organizations or licensees found in violation of this new provision will first receive a written determination from the Office of Cannabis Management and be given an opportunity to be heard before any penalties are imposed.
