This bill establishes a competitive grant program administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support sustainable housing initiatives for Native American tribes. Under this program, Indian Tribes and Tribally designated housing entities can receive grants to either build new residential dwelling units with sustainable features or add sustainable features to existing units. Sustainable features include energy-efficient technologies like solar panels, heat pumps, smart meters, energy-efficient appliances, improved insulation, and other environmentally friendly improvements.
