This resolution commends D. Court Harris for his eight-year service as chairman of the Chicago Executive Airport Board, recognizing his significant contributions to the airport's growth and community engagement. A West Point graduate and U.S. Army veteran with over five years of military service, Harris led the airport through a period of strategic development, including hiring a new executive director, launching a Residential Sound Insulation Program that helped over 35 homes, and overseeing the largest development in the airport's history—the Sky Harbour project. During his tenure, he maintained the airport's self-sustaining financial model, updated its Master Plan with a focus on sustainability, and grew the annual 5K event from 400 to over 1,000 participants. Beyond his airport leadership, Harris has been actively involved in numerous community and veterans' organizations, demonstrating his commitment to public service. The resolution not only praises his accomplishments but also wishes him well in future endeavors and directs that an official copy be presented to him as a symbol of respect and appreciation.
