This resolution honors the life and legacy of Edward J. Lucyk, a former 11-term Pennsylvania State Representative from the 123rd District who passed away on July 7, 2025, at 82 years old. Born in Mahanoy City, Lucyk was a distinguished veteran who served two tours in Vietnam, achieving the rank of Captain and earning multiple military commendations including a Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters. He graduated from West Point in 1964 and later earned an MBA from George Washington University. During his political career from 1981 to 2002, Lucyk was known for championing veterans' and seniors' causes, and for his work on environmental and labor initiatives.
