The Borinqueneers Park Education Alliance is dedicated to supporting a memorial for the 65th Infantry Regiment, a historically segregated, Puerto Rican unit of the United States Army that was renowned for its bravery during the Korean War and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2016. The memorial will be located in the City of Perth Amboy, and the bill ensures that the originally allocated funds will still be used for the Borinqueneer Park project, just through a different organizational recipient. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment.
