This bill establishes the Advanced Nuclear Energy Workforce Development Commission, a body comprised of state education leaders and three industry experts appointed by the governor, to address labor and skill gaps in the advanced nuclear energy industry. Specifically, the commission will focus on creating curriculum for specialized jobs in areas like nuclear-grade welding, radiological control, reactor operations, nuclear instrumentation, and nuclear engineering. The commission will partner with public agencies, private entities, and industry stakeholders to provide grants and financial assistance to support these efforts. Members will serve without compensation but can be reimbursed for travel expenses, and the commission is required to submit an annual report to the governor and legislature starting in 2026 detailing the program's status and effectiveness.
