This bill, titled the "Library Freedom Act," prohibits public school libraries in Arizona from using public funds to pay membership dues or fees to any professional association that advocates for libraries, librarians, and information services. However, this restriction does not apply to county free library districts, municipal libraries, or other entities that contract with public schools for library services, books, or programs, as these entities are still permitted to pay dues or join such professional associations. For the purposes of this law, a "school library" is defined to include the library itself, each school site it serves, and the school's governing body.
