AI Summary
This bill expands the scope of practice for chiropractic physicians in Florida by allowing them to possess and administer certain substances under specific conditions. Specifically, it permits chiropractic physicians to order, store, possess, and administer prescription medical oxygen for emergency use at their offices, and to order, store, possess, and administer solutions in aerosol form, including ethyl chloride. Furthermore, it authorizes them to order, store, possess, prescribe, and administer sterile vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements via injection at their offices, but prohibits them from administering any substance through intravenous therapy. To administer these sterile substances by injection, a chiropractic physician must first be certified by the Board of Chiropractic Medicine, which will establish minimum standards for this practice, including required continuing education, passing an examination, obtaining patient consent and education, and ensuring only certified chiropractic physicians perform these injections.
