AI Summary
This bill requires community association managers and management firms to obtain at least $1 million in separate errors or omissions insurance, which covers mistakes or negligence in their professional services, and mandates that associations with annual revenues of $750,000 or more must contract with a licensed community association management firm, with board members and officers having a duty to ensure these firms are properly licensed. It also specifies that community association managers convicted of certain serious felonies, including those involving money laundering or theft, will have their licenses immediately revoked and be permanently barred from future licensure. The bill also clarifies that timeshare management firms and certain licensed individuals are primarily subject to timeshare laws, but will only be subject to specific licensing and disciplinary rules under chapter 468 (community association management) if those provisions are expressly applied to them, with timeshare laws taking precedence in case of conflict, and it sets an effective date of January 1, 2027.
