This bill expands the authority of certain healthcare professionals by allowing advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) and physician associates (PAs) to make specific medical certifications that were previously limited to physicians. Specifically, APRNs and PAs will now be able to document a "lasting medical necessity," which can extend the duration of a vehicle equipment waiver for individuals with disabilities from two years to four years. Additionally, these professionals will be authorized to exempt a child from required immunizations if they determine that the immunization could be harmful to the child's health, with the exemption lasting only as long as the condition is deemed detrimental.
