This bill modifies existing laws to limit the number of "game dates," which are days when charitable gaming events can be held, for various types of gaming facilities and organizations. Specifically, it reduces the maximum number of game dates a licensee conducting historic horse race wagering can contract with charitable organizations from an unspecified number to a limit of 10 days per year per charity, while requiring licensees to contract with at least two licensed charitable organizations for each game date. For game operator employers licensed under RSA 287-D:4, the bill changes the requirement from operating a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 game dates to a new, unspecified maximum, and clarifies that these game dates benefit the host town or city. It also allows game operator employers to host one or more charities on the same game dates when additional charities would normally participate in charitable gaming, instead of just a single charity. Furthermore, the bill reduces the number of days a license to operate games of chance can be issued for from 10 to 7 days per year, and a charitable gaming license will also entitle a charity to up to 7 game dates per calendar year, down from 10. Finally, it mandates that game operator employers equally distribute a percentage of daily gross revenues, after prizes, to the licensed charitable organizations or host community partnering with them on that date.
