This bill establishes a New Hampshire-Greece Trade Council, recognizing the historical and economic ties between the state and Greece, officially known as the Hellenic Republic, noting that Greece is one of New Hampshire's largest trade partners and that New Hampshire has the highest per capita concentration of Greek Americans. The council will be created by the commissioner of the department of business and economic affairs and the secretary of state to foster bilateral trade and investment, collaborate on policy issues, and promote business and academic exchanges between New Hampshire and Greece. Its members will include two senators, two house members, the commissioner of business and economic affairs, the secretary of state, representatives from the business and industry association and the division of economic development, a representative from the university system, and two public members appointed by the governor. The council will elect a chairperson, can raise funds through various means, and will have a dedicated, non-lapsing fund in the state treasury to cover its administrative costs and operational purposes.
