This bill establishes a New Hampshire-Greece Trade Council, recognizing the historical, cultural, and economic ties between New Hampshire and Greece, officially known as the Hellenic Republic, noting that Greece is one of New Hampshire's largest trade partners and that New Hampshire has the highest per capita concentration of Greek Americans. The council, to be established by the commissioner of the department of business and economic affairs and the secretary of state, will meet with similar councils in Greece to promote bilateral trade and investment, address shared policy issues, and foster business and academic exchanges. Its members will include state senators and representatives, state officials, representatives from business and industry associations, the division of economic development, the university system, and public members appointed by the governor. The council will be authorized to raise funds, accept gifts and grants, and will have a dedicated, non-lapsing fund in the state treasury to cover its administrative costs and operational purposes.
