This resolution congratulates the University High School girls varsity volleyball team, known as the Pioneers, on winning the 2025 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A State Championship. The team achieved a remarkable season by winning their final 30 matches and finishing with an impressive 38-4 record, culminating in a two-set victory over Nazareth Academy at CEFCU Arena in Normal on November 15, 2025. This championship marks the school's first since 2000 and was attributed to the team's hard work, grit, and resilience under the leadership of first-year Head Coach Ratasha Thompson. The resolution recognizes the 15 team members by name and formally acknowledges their achievement, with a commitment to present a copy of the resolution to Coach Thompson as a symbol of respect and esteem.
