The POST Commission will develop a training program that allows these military personnel to qualify for the Missouri police officer standards and training examination, potentially seeking to meet Department of Defense requirements and training reciprocity conditions. The bill establishes a new "Military Police Program of Instruction Fund" in the state treasury to support the program, which can receive appropriations and gifts. The fund's money can only be used for program administration, and any unspent funds will not revert to the general revenue fund. The bill stipulates that the program's implementation is contingent on appropriate funding, and the Department of Public Safety must create necessary rules and regulations for administering the program.
