This bill amends Florida's existing statute regarding specialty license plates by requiring the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop an Endless Summer license plate that can be displayed on both motor vehicles and motorcycles. The plate must include "Florida" at the top, "Endless Summer" at the bottom, and for motorcycle plates, any department-approved image must be placed on the far left side. The annual license plate fees will be distributed to Surfing's Evolution & Preservation Corporation to fund various activities related to preserving surfing, including supporting the proposed Surfing's Evolution & Preservation Experience project, providing funds for lifeguards and artificial reefs, supporting organizations that document surfing history, and promoting beach and ocean education. Additionally, the bill specifies that the total number of valid Endless Summer license plates issued for both motor vehicles and motorcycles will be combined when determining whether the specialty plate meets requirements for continued production. The bill is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
