This bill creates a full-time dementia services coordinator position within the Division of Senior and Disability Services at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. The coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities focused on improving dementia-related services and support, including evaluating current service coordination, gathering and using dementia-related data to improve public health outcomes, establishing relationships with various agencies and providers, supporting dementia-specific staff training across state agencies, recommending strategies to improve service coordination, streamlining state government services, identifying duplicated services, seeking grant opportunities to expand dementia services, promoting public awareness and education about dementia, and collecting and monitoring data about dementia's impact in Missouri. The primary goal of this position is to enhance the quality of life for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers by creating a more integrated and efficient approach to dementia services across the state.
