This bill, titled "The Supporting Missouri Servicemen and Women Act," modifies compensation and benefits for certain members of the Missouri National Guard when they are on active duty in service of the state. It ensures that these members receive pay, longevity (which refers to pay increases based on length of service), and allowances equivalent to those of their counterparts in the U.S. Armed Forces. However, it establishes two key exceptions: first, members on active duty will receive a minimum daily pay equivalent to an E5 (a rank in the U.S. military) with maximum longevity and dependents; and second, those serving for more than thirty days will receive a monthly allowance to cover premiums for TRICARE, the health insurance program for U.S. military personnel and their families, or any other government-sponsored insurance program during their active duty period.
