This bill appropriates $240,000 from the public school foundation program account to the Wyoming Department of Education to fund one full-time employee position for two fiscal years, from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028, with no more than $120,000 to be spent each year. This position will help school districts implement reading assessment and intervention programs, as well as language and literacy programs mandated by Wyoming statutes, and the funds are specifically for this purpose and will revert if unspent by the end of the appropriation period. The legislature intends for the Department of Education to include this funding and position in its regular budget requests for the following two-year period, and the act will take effect on July 1, 2026.
