This bill establishes a comprehensive working group convened by the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife to address mooring management on inland waters. The working group will include representatives from various state departments, businesses, and organizations, such as game wardens, parks and lands officials, mooring rental businesses, harbor masters, and lake associations. By November 4, 2026, the Commissioner must report the working group's findings and conclusions to the legislative committee with jurisdiction over inland fisheries and wildlife, which is then authorized to submit related legislation to the 133rd Legislature in 2027. The bill aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of mooring management and potential regulatory approaches for Maine's inland waters.
